We are looking for a Lead Coach to facilitate our multi sport programming at a variety of childcare and school settings around the GTA. We are looking for energetic, active and sports focused individuals who can lead groups of children from ages 18 months – 12 years of age in games, activities and skill training in a variety of sports like basketball, soccer, hockey, lacrosse, football, and more.

We provide all of the equipment necessary as well as a “playbook” to help guide your lessons.

Duties

• provide a fun, safe and inclusive environment for children to learn and explore in
• strong ability to connect with children and communicate effectively with staff and parents
• lead children through a variety of games and activities related to a number of different sports focuses (soccer, baseball, hockey, football, track and field and more)
• ability to confidently lead groups of children in active, engaging, and structured programs
• support children’s learning and growth as they develop their gross motor skills with a focus on perseverance, self-esteem, confidence and teamwork
• provide a fun and energetic attitude to motivate the children to learn and grow
• comfortable thinking on your feet and adjusting activities to meet the needs of different age groups and abilities as well as individuals 
• drive to various locations – MUST HAVE ACCESS TO A VEHICLE

Experience

• in a leadership role (ie. Camp counsellor, volunteer, ECE, EA, after school program facilitator, coach, etc.)
• preferred: currently studying or completed a post-secondary program in an education, child development, kinesiology, sport management, theatre or a related field
• experience leading sports, physical activity, or play-based programs is an asset
